CLUBSPORT History

The 911 ST was homologated for Group 3 & Group 4 competition as Porsche’s top of the line sports version of the 911 between 1969-1972.  911 ST was the factory’s internal designation for a 911S minus the comfort equipment separating the 911S and 911E from the basic, yet lighter, 911T.  ST’s were constructed by Porsche competition department with a host of performance upgrades.  Most notable were the 9” fender flares front and rear, wider wheels and no rear tail.  Influences from the 1968 911R’s recipe for lightweight were applied in the use of aluminum for decklid and fiberglass & balsa wood front hood.  Engine displacement was 2.5L utilizing mechanical fuel injection.  ST’s were raced throughout Europe and became the 911 of choice for IMSA’s 1972 GT serices.

Interior

The interior is crafted to embrace the simplicity of form and function that best characterizes the interiors of early Porsche 911’s.  The seats are custom sports seats inspired by the touring/competition seats of the late 60’s and early 70’s.  Clients can choose from a myriad of leather and fabric options to create the interior of their vision.  Seats can be provided in Touring or Competition configurations and can be provided with heater strips for cool weather driving.  Each seat is conceptually designed in house and meticulously assembled with a focus on detail.  The rear seats are deleted in the spirit of Porsche’s sports purpose 911’s and custom German square weave carpet is installed throughout.  The dash, door panels, sun visors and any other interior trim pieces are covered in supple leather.  A custom milled stainless steel shift knob is artfully matched with a custom stitched Momo/Nardi steering wheel which provides the perfect connection to the car through its artful craftmanship.

Luggage Compartment

A unique feature that exemplifies Classic 9’s attention to detail is the front luggage compartment which is finished in a light weight perlon fabric molded to the contours of the chassis.  A custom fuel tank, spare wheel/tire, front strut tie-bar and custom batter box are all standard features.  The overall presentation of the compartment is highly refined, yet in character with the car.
